A Winning Day at Aiken: Two Victories for the Team

What an incredible weekend for the barn at Aiken. We brought home two winners, starting with a dazzling U.S. debut and finishing with a standout performance in the feature.

Our afternoon kicked off with Porte Jaune, who made her American debut a winning one in impressive fashion. Sourced from Baltimore Stables and now representing the ownership group of Madaket Stables, Leipers Fork Steeplechasers, and Layton Register, she delivered a polished, professional effort that set the tone for the day. She also became our first jump winner of the year, an exciting milestone for the entire stable and a preview of what’s to come from this talented filly.

From there, Blue Creek made it a double on the card, capturing the $40,000 Imperial Cup for owner Patrick Lewis with a brilliant ride from Stephen Mulqueen. Blue Creek is particularly special to our team—Keri selected him as a yearling, he broke his maiden on the flat in our colors, earned black type as a 2-year-old, and now, at just four, he’s blossoming into a rising star over hurdles. Watching him mature through every stage of his career has been immensely rewarding, and today’s feature win was another big step forward.

A huge congratulations to our owners, riders, and hardworking team behind the scenes who make days like this possible. The season is young, the horses are thriving, and we’re excited for what’s ahead. Onward!
